Your role

Position summary:

As a Market Research Intern, you will play a pivotal role in supporting their market research efforts to gain insights into customer satisfaction, brand strength, and competitive landscapes. This internship offers a unique opportunity to work closely with their experienced market research team, contributing to strategic decision-making processes. The Market Research Intern will be responsible for assisting in collecting, analyzing, and presenting data to help inform business decisions.

Responsibilities & main tasks:

  • This role’s main responsibility is to support the management and communication of market research survey activities by engaging with key stakeholders across North America, such as the dealer network, employees, and customers.
  • You will be tasked with engaging stakeholders with the data from their key surveys to illustrate and improve their customer experience by bringing their data to life.
  • These surveys include the Customer Satisfaction Survey (CSS), Dealer Satisfaction Survey (DSS), Global Brand Track Survey (GBT), Competitive Satisfaction Survey (COSS), and the Service Work Order Survey (SWOS). These surveys measure their customer experience by tracking the purchase experience, ownership experience, and service experience of Volvo CE North America.
  • This role will also support the collecting, analyzing, and presenting of competitive intelligence to key audiences.

Manage day-to-day survey process:

  • Maintain monthly reporting for the Customer Satisfaction Survey (CSS).
  • Engage dealers and onboard them into the survey management system.
  • Send monthly email to stakeholders when survey data is open.
  • Maintain reporting and user access for the Service Work Order Survey (SWOS).
  • Continuously monitor and evaluate the effectiveness of surveys, making recommendations for improvements as necessary.
  • Assist in the collection and packaging of competitive information through designated channels.
  • Communicate results of surveys.
  • Collect, organize, and analyze survey data using statistical software and techniques.
  • Identify trends and patterns in the data and provide actionable insights to the team.
  • Create reports and presentations that effectively communicate survey results to key stakeholders.
  • Support the team in developing and implementing strategies to improve customer satisfaction and retention.
  • Miscellaneous: Take on Marketing Team activities and support the team as needed with various tasks.

The compensation for the role will range from $16.00 to $46.00 per hour.

About you

Educational/knowledge requirements:

  • Applicants must be currently enrolled and pursuing a Business degree in Marketing or Data Analytics at an accredited school and have completed 30 semester hours prior to the start of the internship.
  • Applicants must have a minimum cumulative grade point average of 2.75. 
  • Strong analytical and critical thinking skills with the ability to analyze complex data and draw insights.
  • PowerBI or statistical analysis software knowledge is preferred.
  • Excellent communication skills, both written and verbal, with the ability to present data and insights clearly and effectively.
  • Knowledge of Microsoft Office, particularly Excel and PowerPoint is needed.
  • A minimum of 15 working hours per week is required.
