We are looking for enthusiastic and motivated students to join our 10 week paid summer Internship Program based in BOQ's Head Office, in the trendy Gasworks precinct at Newstead. Commencing 30 November 2020 our Internship Program provides you with the opportunity to continue building your professional skills and technical expertise. As a key member of your team, you will get to work on meaningful projects and tasks while also gaining on-the-job training, mentoring and professional development designed to support you to reach your potential.
BOQ hires people from all educational backgrounds for roles within Retail & Business Banking, Risk, Enterprise Solutions (IT), Finance, Projects & Transformation and People & Culture.
We are looking for highly capable university students with demonstrated critical analysis and problem solving skills and the ability to effectively present and communicate information both verbally and in writing. You will take a collaborative approach to achieving outcomes for the customers you support. As a values-based decision maker you will be passionate about doing what's right for the customer and BOQ. As a future leader of BOQ you'll look for opportunities to encourage diverse thinking and support the organisation to continue adapting and transforming to deliver our purpose and strategy.
You will be in your penultimate (second-last) or final year of university and scheduled to graduate from undergraduate or postgraduate study by December 2021. You will need permanent work rights in Australia or New Zealand to be a part of the program.

Retail Banking – Branch Network
An internship with the Retail Banking Branch Network may include exposure to customer-facing roles, day-to-day running and management of a retail branch, operational management, and the pathway to branch leadership.
Retail – Sales Performance Effectiveness
An internship within our sales performance effectiveness team may include exposure to data analytics and insights to assist the retail branches, mortgage brokers customer connect centre helping grow their business, and monitor business performance scorecards.
An internship in Business banking may include exposure to assessing and managing complex financial analysis specifically with high net worth corporate and commercial clients.
An internship in the Product team will cover all your banking basics and suit someone who is good with numbers. Your internship may include exposure to product development & simplification, pricing, payments, and remediation.
An internship within the Risk team may include exposure to Anti-Money Laundering or Fraud monitoring, assessments and investigations; working with BOQ customers who have delinquent or irregular accounts to assist them with an appropriate payment plan; operational risk; internal audit; and compliance.
Enterprise Solutions (IT)
An internship within the Enterprise Solutions team may include exposure to cyber security, digital innovation, architecture and engineering, technology service delivery, data and analytics platform, robotics and automation, digital development.
An internship with Group Finance may include exposure to financial & regulatory accounting, business performance management, taxation, treasury, capital management and investor (shareholder) relations.
Projects, Transformation & Strategy
An internship within the Projects, Transformation & Strategy teams may include exposure to strategy execution, project/program delivery and organisational change methodologies to drive business and transformation projects across regulatory changes, customer experience, digital transformation, or business improvement.
People & Culture
An internship within the People & Culture team may include exposure to learning & development, HR business support, recruitment, performance & reward, employee/industrial relations, wellbeing, health & safety, organisational development, and HR systems & data analytics.
